I have taken Course 566, Internet Information Services 6 for Windows Server® 2003: Hands-On. Should I take this course?IIS 7 is the latest iteration of Microsoft's enterprise Web server. As
such, many of the concepts covered in Course 566 remain the same in this course. However, the
changes Microsoft has made from version 6 to version 7 have been the most radical in the
history of IIS. The interface has changed and so has the way that IIS works. You
may well benefit from this course.What are the differences between IIS 6 and IIS 7?IIS has been rebuilt from
the ground up. The most obvious difference is that IIS is now a
componentized architecture with a completely new interface. You can select the
features that you need for your organization, and only these features are installed. Configuration is
done using text files and the responsibility for these can easily be delegated and managed.My company is still using Windows Server 2003. Should I take this course?If your organization is considering a move to Windows Server 2008, and is interested in the new features of IIS 7, this course would be beneficial.To what extent does this course cover security issues?Specific chapters of this course cover Web server security including access control, authentication, certificates and encryption.
