RealityPlus™ Courses Win Industry Award and Recognition
Learning Tree has been selected to receive the “Outstanding Human Performance Intervention” award from the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
Learning Tree is receiving this award in recognition of developing and introducing RealityPlus, a curriculum of management education courses based on the principles of performance-based learning. Specifically, Learning Tree will receive the award for the company’s development of Course 315: Developing User Requirements: The Key to Project Success, which teaches attendees how to write user requirements documents and then manage those documents throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Learning Tree teamed with Darryl L. Sink & Associates, Inc. to design and develop RealityPlus. In RealityPlus courses, participants are immersed in simulated, real-world scenarios where they learn and practice in a hands-on, dynamic media-rich environment. Authenticity is the key to this new training approach.
Under the guidance of expert facilitators, the learner makes decisions and takes actions based on information that is presented in a way they would encounter information on the job. These experiences reflect the challenges, stimulus, and expectations of the contemporary workplace through interactive video scenarios, computer simulated environments, real-time data acquisition and analysis, and many collaborative activities. Post-course evaluations show this approach significantly increases participant satisfaction, participant learning, and on-the-job application of new knowledge and skills.

The ISPI Awards of Excellence program is designed to showcase the people, products, innovations, and organizations that represent excellence in the field of instructional and human performance technology. The Awards of Excellence process is made up of four phases: 1) submission; 2) evaluation; 3) recognition; and 4) mentoring. The judging criteria in the “Outstanding Human Performance Intervention” category focused on recognizing outstanding results derived from the application of human performance technology to human performance problems, needs, or opportunities.
Learning Tree will receive its award at the annual ISPI conference in May 2007 in San Francisco, California.
