Do You Know Your Training Partner?

10 Questions You Should Ask!

1 How can I be sure your training will increase my staff’s productivity?
You’ll want to know this because, frankly, if your people aren’t more productive after they’re trained, you shouldn’t have wasted your money (or their time) on classes to begin with. Thousands of Learning Tree Course attendees have reported an average increase in post-course productivity of more than 30%. That’s the kind of return you should expect from your training investment.

2 How often do you update your course content to ensure relevancy?
In today’s work environment, there’s one constant you can count on: change. If your training partner’s courses are offering last year’s (or even last month’s) content, your organization will be left behind. Learning Tree updates its courses as many as six times each year to reflect the very latest in information technology and workplace trends, so your people are learning what’s relevant in today’s work world.

3 How do you measure attendee satisfaction and respond to the results?
When a training provider says they’re good, that’s one thing. When their customers say it, that’s when it really counts. And, more importantly, customer feedback should be used routinely to improve course content and delivery. Learning Tree conducts Level 1, 2 and 3 assessments with each attendee and makes the results of those assessments available to customers. The data collected is a critical component in Learning Tree’s process of constantly improving its content, instructors and instructional design.

4 Is your course content original and free from vendor bias?
Unfortunately, some courses are geared more toward selling than educating. Even worse, there’s no assurance that a vendor-based course is going to be forthcoming on all the aspects of its product, including its flaws. Since its first classes in 1974, Learning Tree has developed its content independently of all service, hardware and software vendors. Attendees get a clear, unbiased presentation that includes both the positive and negative aspects of the subject. Furthermore, Learning Tree Courses offer practical, real-world solutions on how to integrate and apply components from multiple sources in order to solve real-world problems.

5 Can you develop a scalable training program and execute it flawlessly, regardless of size?
Whatever the number of people you need trained—or how they’re dispersed in different locations—it’s critical that your training partner have the people and the infrastructure in place to consistently deliver the results you need—anywhere, anytime. Learning Tree has more than 680 professional instructors worldwide and has developed (and delivered) programs for customers at dozens of locations around the globe. That’s scalability!

6 Are your courses eligible for college credit and professional certification?
Part of providing your staff with the best possible training is also giving them the opportunity to achieve their educational goals and further their careers. Learning Tree Courses are recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education. In addition, members of the Learning Tree University Consortium accept Learning Tree courses toward fulfilling various degree and non-degree programs. Learning Tree courses can also be used to achieve a variety of industry-based certifications as well as Learning Tree’s own Professional Certifications.

7 Do you keep your classroom environment and instructional methodologies current with—and relevant to—today’s real-world workplace?
If you think classes still take place in rooms with chairs, a teacher’s desk, blackboards and chalk, you’re in for a big surprise. Leading-edge instructional design depends on classrooms that use the same technology that attendees use on the job. Learning Tree invests in state-of-the-art presentation technology, software and hardware that are consistent with today’s high-powered, totally wired work environment, along with developing a proprietary learning methodology that leverages available classroom technology and harnesses the power of adult learning.

8 Can you support a training program that has regional, national or even multinational requirements?
A program with an international footprint—with its own unique set of problems and obstacles—is not a job for amateurs or the faint of heart. With operations in six countries on three continents—and a global roster of over 680 instructors—Learning Tree has the experience, the people and the infrastructure in place to deliver training programs virtually anywhere in the world, transcending geographic and cultural boundaries. And, the quality of the courses remains consistently high, regardless of the location.

9 What are your instructors’ qualifications, and how are they trained and evaluated?
Unless your instructor knows his or her subject inside out and, more importantly, knows lots more than you do, you’re not going to learn anything new. Having qualified, carefully selected and highly trained instructors is essential to successful training. Learning Tree painstakingly screens candidates and puts each one through a professional development program before they can teach a single course. Even as Learning Tree instructors, their professional development continues throughout their career.

10 Can you guarantee my satisfaction?
If you’re asking Learning Tree, then the answer is a resounding “Yes!” As partners, we’re in it together. You’re investing money and time into training your staff, so why shouldn’t your training partner assure the results? For more than three decades, Learning Tree has delivered on this one guarantee: 100% satisfaction. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll work until we put it right—or you don’t pay—because that’s what you should expect from your training partner.

“I’ve found that with other training providers, the chances are 50-50 of having a good experience. But with Learning Tree, from the very first class, I have always been impressed with how professional they are. Every Learning Tree instructor has been equally impressive. I have never been disappointed.

I continue to attend Learning Tree Courses because they are consistent. The materials are good and you get instructors who use the technology everyday and are knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve been to other courses where the providers overload you with every little detail. At Learning Tree, you learn exactly what you need to know in order to go back and use the new skills effectively.”
